THE IDEA
When NETS asked us to help customers adopt the habit of “tap to pay”, we borrowed from a cultural icon already loved by merchants and their customers—the fortune cat. Known for its signature beckoning paw, it was already halfway to demonstrating the tapping motion. We turned it into Tappy Cat, a playful ambassador for contactless payments.
From posters and 3D bus sculptures to social videos and in-store point-of-sale figures, Tappy Cat popped up anywhere someone might make a purchase—at supermarkets, bakeries, nail salons, and sports stores—following people from breakfast to groceries to nights out with friends.
